The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, Review
The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas offers the classic luxury you’d expect from one of Marriott’s top brands, but still feels relaxed and affordable. It’s also possible to snag a great deal with Marriott Bonvoy points, making it a great weekend getaway for those who don’t want to deal with city traffic.
It’s a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Dallas, so it’s not an ideal location if your main goal is to spend time downtown. But the location has its perks.
I was impressed by the size of the property, which sits on a sprawling piece of land outside of Dallas. Once a family ranch, it now consists of a hotel, athletic club, golf course and several swimming pools. Note that there is another Ritz-Carlton in Dallas, which may be a better option for exploring the city.
I happened to be in town for the Dallas BBQ in May 2026 (which I would highly recommend!) and the property invited me to stay for three nights. Although the hotel covered my accommodation, meals and on-property activities, all opinions in this review are my own.
Inside the property’s $65 million renovation
If you are a longtime Metroplex resident, you may associate the property with a different name. That’s because it used to be a Four Seasons property. However, the resort — which underwent a $65 million renovation — was rebranded in 2024 as the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas.

While the somewhat drab yellow brick exterior facade hasn’t changed much, the interiors have been upgraded and now have a more modern aesthetic. I never visited the property when it was a Four Seasons, but after going through some old photos, I feel like I can safely say that it was a much needed update, especially the rooms.

As you step into the massive lobby, you’ll see Bar Juniper, a lobby bar that was added as part of the renovation. It’s impossible to miss the striking cotton flower chandelier that hangs above the space.
Throughout the lobby, you’ll find little nooks and crannies where you can enjoy the air conditioning and hide from the Texas heat. You’ll find the same outdoors, but it won’t be as cool.

Instead, you can cool off in the huge outdoor pool, probably the hotel’s most popular amenity. Based on how many people were at the pool, it was clear during my visit that this hotel is a hit with local families.
Best way to book: Marriott points
One of the best ways to score a great deal at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas is to book your stay using Marriott Bonvoy points.
Marriott uses dynamic pricing, which means prices can vary based on demand and season. A search in July 2026 showed nightly rates ranging from 52,000 to 89,000 points. You will also have to pay a daily resort fee of $47.
It is interesting that some of the most expensive nights in the facility are for stays in the middle of the week. This is likely due to its proximity to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, making it a popular choice for business travelers.
Spacious rooms with plenty of seating
I stayed in a pool villa with a double bed, but I had the opportunity to tour the hotel’s standard room, which is located in the main tower.
The room was well equipped and even had a separate couch. There was a decent amount of space as well as a small balcony that you could walk out on.

The bathroom was stocked with products from Diptyque, a popular brand best known for its luxury scented candles. Like every accommodation in the hotel, the bathroom is equipped with a bathtub — something that is not always seen.

If you want to splurge, villas really are bigger and better in every way. You will find them by the pool or by the golf course.
I appreciated the extra space, including extra seating areas like the small round table in the room.

My favorite part was the sun lounger on the outdoor patio, which also had a fireplace. (Unfortunately, Texas evenings in May meant he was too noisy to fully enjoy this perk.)

I was also impressed by the domestic staff, who were attentive in a subtle way. They replaced my toothpaste with a new tube when they saw I was running low and even stacked my suitcase (which I had left open on the floor) on top of the luggage rack.
Several dining options within the facility
The facility has three main dining options: the poolside Aire Libre restaurant, the Juniper bar in the lobby, and the premium Knife Italian Steak. There is also Campo Coffee & Provisions, where you can have coffee and pastries.
I mostly ate at the club on the property (more on that below), but I enjoyed my first dry-aged steak at Knife Italian Steak, which has an upscale and moody atmosphere. As for the taste, I have never experienced anything like it before, and the waiter gave excellent recommendations for drinks as well.

The restaurant also doubles as the Knife Italian Cafe in the morning, the property’s breakfast spot.
The hotel offers various seasonal activities. During my summer stay, there was a garden botanical summer tea at the Juniper bar and it was fun to try all the sandwiches and bite-sized desserts. It’s a great afternoon activity if you’re looking for something relaxed but refined.
The Ritz-Carlton Club is a worthy upgrade
If you plan to stay, I would recommend spending the money on the Ritz-Carlton Club. The supplement is expensive: $275 per day for two people on weekdays and $325 on weekends when you book in advance online. However, it can be cheaper if you book a room rate that includes club access. It is also worth asking when checking in if the facility is willing to offer a reduced price.

Normally I wouldn’t recommend doing something like this, but I think the math makes sense if you spend most of your time on the property. Access to the club includes all-day lounge privileges, including food throughout the day and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
In addition, the food selection was truly delicious – they even served roast bowls one evening – and the staff were friendly and proactive.

The most extensive health and wellness facilities I have seen in a hotel
It’s impossible to talk about the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas without talking about The Nelson, a full-service fitness club right next to the hotel.
Hotel guests have access to the club’s amenities, which include indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a golf course, an indoor track, weight and cardio machines, group fitness classes and more.

All this is in addition to its own massive swimming pool, which is located between the hotel and the golf course. It’s not exactly a lazy river, but the design certainly makes it look like one.
The main pool is definitely one of the highlights of the hotel, so go early to avoid the crowds.

If you’re looking for pampering, there’s also the Ritz-Carlton Spa. I enjoyed a relaxing 50-minute massage, which also gave me access to the spa facilities, including a sauna, steam room, hot tub and cold bath.
Guests who have not reserved the spa for the same day must pay a fee to access the facilities.
Excellent accommodation, far from the city
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, and found plenty of work at the hotel to keep me busy for the weekend.
If you live nearby, I would definitely recommend checking it out. However, if you are visiting as a tourist, be prepared to travel into town; for most, finding something in the center might be a better option.
While stays can be expensive — especially if you include club access with your reservation — there are ways to keep costs down, such as using Marriott Bonvoy points to book.
