Modera Wealth Management Welcome CIO, COO
Modera Wealth Management has appointed Gaurav Malik as Chief Investment Officer and Shelley Kapoor as Chief Operating Officer.
“We have brought on these two wealth management veterans at a crucial time as we expand our investment offerings and our operational and technology platform,” said Tom Arecchio, CEO of Modera. “They will play an important role in driving our organization forward, helping to ensure that we continue to provide the end-to-end, high-touch experiences that our customers value.”
Based in Modera’s Boston office, Gaurav will lead the firm’s investment strategy and help drive its portfolio allocation, investment decisions and governance system. Most recently, Gaurav served as managing partner of Fiducia Advisors, LLC, where he led advisory projects for wealth management firms, focusing on the integration of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) into investment processes.
He previously served as Chief Investment Officer at Pallas Capital after nearly two decades in various leadership roles at State Street Global Advisors, including Chief Portfolio Strategist and Chief Investment Strategist. His experience spans both quantitative and fundamental investment strategies, with experience in private equity and building institutional trading teams.
Gaurav succeeds George Padula in the role, who planned to retire at the end of 2026 and will remain with the firm until the end of the year to support the transition.
Shelly, who will be based in Westwood, NJ, comes to Modera from Coldstream, where she most recently managed business integration. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Arnerich Massena prior to its acquisition of Coldstream and spent 13 years as Senior Vice President of Operations at Ziff Brothers Investments in New York, where she gained experience managing complex processes, scaling teams and supporting high levels of business performance in a private family office.
She succeeds Harley Palme, who recently moved to a new position as Modera’s Director of Learning and Development.
