Chime Launches Chime Invest to Expand Savings Opportunities
Chime is launching Chime Invest, a new platform that will allow investors to buy stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) without paying commissions or using an expert-managed portfolio with no minimum accounts.
The financial technology company notes that investors who don’t invest in stocks typically cite cost or time constraints as reasons. Others believe they are not financially savvy enough to invest in stocks. An Gallup’s April 2026 Economics and Personal Finance Survey found that 58% of US adults report owning stocks, whether in individual stocks, mutual funds or retirement accounts, leaving more than 40% of people without these additional savings avenues.
Under the new platform, members who already use Chime will be able to invest for as little as $1 and can use an expert-managed portfolio if they have limited time or financial knowledge. The company claims that such options allow individuals to further increase their savings.
“The hardest part of investing is often getting started and keeping it going,” said Chris Britt, CEO and co-founder of Chime. in the statement. “Millions of people already trust Chime with their money every day. By investing in a program they already know and love, we’re making it easier to turn savings into investments and invest into long-term wealth.”
Expertly crafted portfolios are managed by Atomic Invest, a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registered investment adviser. Chime Prime members using this service will not incur minimum account balance or management fees, while Chime Plus members will incur a 0.10% management fee and Chime members will incur a 0.25% management fee.
Securities in these accounts will be SIPC protected up to $500,000.
Public access to Chime Invest will be available to members “in the coming weeks,” Chime noted.
