White House announces cybersecurity clearinghouse for software patches
The White House announced a cybersecurity “clearing house” that would coordinate scanning for software vulnerabilities and distributing vulnerability patches.
Last month, President Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to take steps to counter potential cybersecurity threats posed by artificial intelligence. The order also called for the creation of a clearing house.
In a statementThe White House announced that open source software partners and critical infrastructure companies have built a coordinated system for receiving and patching cyber vulnerabilities, called “Gold Eagle.”
“This new model will leverage the frontier capabilities of artificial intelligence to continue to advance faster than adversaries, reduce duplicative scanning efforts, and deliver prioritized and actionable threat and remediation information to defenders in the federal government and private sector,” the White House said.
