ACTEC Announces New Law Journal Editors

Washington, DC – March 13, 2026: The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) today announced an ACTEC Fellow the teacher Reid Kress Weisbord He will be Editor (2026–2028) and ACTEC Fellow the teacher Ronald J. Reid Kress Weisbord Distinguished Professor of Law and Judge Norma L. Shapiro at Rutgers Law School. His scholarship explores private law issues related to wealth transfer, estate planning, taxation, and property through more than sixty publications, an estate planning treatise, and a law school textbook. Weisbord recently served as president of the American Association of Trusts & Estates Section of Law Schools and currently teaches as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School and the University of Miami Law School. Prior to entering legal academia, Weisbord practiced law in the litigation department of an international law firm before serving as a clerk in federal district courts and the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Ronald J. Scalise, Jr. He is the John Minor Wisdom Professor of Civil Law at Tulane Law School. His scholarship focuses on trust and estate issues, as well as civil and comparative law approaches to inheritance. He has authored extensive academic publications, including numerous law review articles, book chapters, and treatise updates. He is also very active with law reform, both at the state and national level, through the Louisiana State Law Institute and the Uniform Law Commission, respectively. He received the Felix Frankfurter Prize for Law Teaching twice. Scalise Stone is a former member of Pigman and a clerk for the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
